Who We Are!
A coalition of membership organizations consisting of:
- Health and human services provider organizations, including nonprofit agencies, governmental entities, and faith-based organizations
- The Basic Needs Coalition utilizes a committee structure (Food Security, Housing Stability, Advocacy/Public Awareness, Funded Partners of BSS, Membership/Governance & Executive.
Vision
- The Vision of the Basic Needs Coalition of Central Texas is to eliminate the effects of poverty and promote self sufficiency.
Mission Statement
- The Mission of the Basic Needs Coalition of Central Texas is to lead the community in creating solutions that secure the basic resources – food and housing- of our neighbors in need.
Purpose of the BNC
- Assist, advise, and educate community policymakers, service providers, funders, community groups and citizens in addressing basic needs in Austin and Travis County,
- Maximize services and resources through the development, coordination and implementation of effective strategies for service delivery; and
- Serve as an advisory body of the Community Action Network (CAN).
